Why is two step verification required to login?

And first off, what is 2FA?

Two Factor Authentication is a security measure. It protects your data and identity.

It usually uses a phone -- a second factor of authentication to verify your identity. The first factor is your login info: your user name and password. Combined, both of these factors are very secure, and help verify that you are who you say you are.

For instance, if an identity thief gets a hold of your username and password, they won't able to login with those credentials alone -- they'll see a prompt to enter a 6 digit code that only you can access from your phone.

That 6 digit code can be found in a special app on your phone called an Authenticator App. Once you've installed this app and connected it to your Momence login credentials, it becomes very hard for someone else to login as you.

Who does this affect?

Anyone with heightened permissions in Momence. If the role you've been assigned has access to sensitive information or powerful communication tools, you'll be required to enroll in 2FA.

Where can I learn how to enroll?

See this article for more information on how to get this done.

I can't find my recovery codes. Where should I check?

If you previously set up your 2FA account with Momence the last step would have shown you a screen where you were prompted to download your recovery codes. So the first place you should check is your downloads folder. If you find them there, make sure to save them in a safe place that only you can access.
