Edit an existing service's locations
To control which existing services can happen where, click Appointments > Services > click the service.
Select Locations > Edit Locations.
Toggle off 'Assign all locations' (unless you want this)
Then choose which locations > click Apply Changes.
Add custom questions to a specific appointment service
Sometimes a specific service requires a specific question. A question you wouldn't ask for another service.
To add a customer facing question by service, click Appointments > Services > locate the service and click the dropdown menu to its right > click Edit
Scroll to the bottom > Add a custom question > Save
Customers will now see this at checkout when self serving.
Limit Appointment Service bookings by tags
You can now restrict the booking of specific Appointment Services by tag.
In other words, if you've tagged a special group of customers, and want to ensure only this group can book this appointment service, you can now restrict booking to just those individuals.
To do this, click Appointments > Services > locate the service > click the dropdown menu to the right > click Edit
Next, scroll to 'Who can book?' > toggle on 'Restrict booking to customers with specific tags' > choose which tags just below (use the dropdown carrot to the right to show existing tags).
Create an appointment service that allows for multiple customers
Click Appointments > Services > Create > Service
Set the max number of customers.
Set the price, and consider whether the price is per customer (or not -- in this case, it should be much higher).
Lastly, consider if the service needs multiple teachers and if you want this to be a requirement.
Save when done and assign the service to the Appointment Boards it applies to.
Click Boards > then select a board.
Then click Services > Assign Service.
Allow Overlapping Appointments
Appointment services can be scheduled to overlap. And you can set exactly when that overlap can be scheduled for.
For example, you could use this feature for, say, Acupuncture, where you might only need to be with the client for the first 30 minutes of their appointment to discuss their needs and put the needles in, and then the rest of the appointment they're left alone in the room to absorb the benefits.
This allows you to move on to start the next client's appointment, while the first client's is still going, allowing you to optimize your time and revenue.
To start using this new option, click Appointments > Services > select a service > Edit > under Customers & Scheduling, select Allow Overlap.
Limit Maximum Number of Concurrent Reservations
When editing a service you'll find a field to set the max concurrent reservations per Appointment board.
This is for scenarios you can only manage going back and forth between a limited number of clients at a time.
You can turn this option on under Appointments > Services > Select service > Edit > scroll to 'Booking conditions' > toggle on Limit max. concurrent reservations.
Note: this service requires enabling overlapping of appointments by venue and staff. You can do this by editing a board and toggling these two settings on.
Below, Rachel is teaching a group climbing class where she's booked up 3 customers for the same service.
And because her max number of concurrent reservations is set at 3, she'll see this message when attempting to book a 4th customer for the same service at the same time.
Attach Products to Appointment Services
If a customer books an appointment service that you've assigned a retail product to, the assigned teacher will see a green product icon on the day of the appointment.
To add a product to a service, click Appointments > Services > edit a service via its dropdown menu.
Scroll to Products and click 'Add Product'.
Select the product and submit.
Note: you'll want to check that there are enough quanitites at the location where the appointments are taking place. You can do this by clicking Studio Setup > Retail Products selecting a Product and scrolling to the current quantities per location.
