New to Zapier?
Zapier allows you to connect common apps you already use and automate areas of your business by creating 'If, then' scenarios, also known as 'Triggers' and 'Actions.'
In Zapier you can choose Triggers that occur in Momence and have those Triggers cause Actions in other Apps (and vice versa).
Here's a quickstart guide that Zapier provides.
What Triggers are available from the Momence side?
You'll see:
• New Customer (when someone makes their very first purchase from you)
• Membership cancellation (when your customer cancels a membership)
• Membership Purchase (when someone buys a membership of yours)
• Event Booking (when someone books your event)
• Last Purchase with a Pack (when a customer uses their last credit in a pack)
How about available Actions on Zapiers end?
Zapier's list will always be growing but here are some major apps that can be triggered to perform actions. You'll find options to drill down into each app for a list of options. You can also search for a specific app you might be interested in making part of your workflow.
Integrate Momence with Zapier
To set up the Zapier integration with Momence, in Momence click Apps & Integrations > Integrations > Select Zapier > follow along with the video above, or the directions below.
Start by naming your API key (something you'll recognize like Momence API) > then click Create.
Next, copy that API key > then click the link above to connect to Zapier > Login to Zapier (you can connect with Google or other login options) > Accept the invite.
Then, click 'Create a new Zap' to get started.
Search for Momence and select it.
Next, choose your event and click Continue.
Then, choose your Momence account.
If you see a red message that reads 'This account is expired. Please reconnect it here,' click it > paste in that API key > click Continue.
Lastly, click Continue.
You'll be prompted to test the trigger.
Now that we've connected Zapier and chosen our trigger for our first Zap, its time to choose the Action that happens afterward.
I only see basically First Name, Last Name, Email and a few other fields. Are there more fields I can access?
The "New Customer" trigger in Momence's Zapier integration only provides a limited set of fields, such as First Name, Last Name, and Email, when a new customer is created.
Currently, there is no way to access more granular data (such as phone numbers or purchase information) through the standard Zapier triggers. Even using Zapier’s API Request action to interact directly with the Momence API does not provide access to these additional fields, as there is no indication that such data can be retrieved through the current API setup. This limitation appears to be by design.
Can phone numbers of our customers to be passed to Zapier?
The "New Customer" trigger in Momence's Zapier integration does not include the customer's phone number in the data payload sent to Zapier. Zapier also does not support retrieval of phone numbers at this time.
This limitation appears to be by design, and there is no documented way to add phone numbers to the data retrieved through the API at this time.
Use Zapier to create leads via the Momence API
While you can't create actions in Momence via Zapier, you can create leads via the Momence API.
Note: as Zapier states in the following linked article, to create an API Request action, you’ll need familiarity with sending HTTP requests, APIs, and reading API documentation.
The steps are as follows:
In Zapier, create the logic you'd like to use to collect Lead information
Push the Lead information to the Momence API as shown here: https://help.zapier.com/hc/en-us/articles/12899607716493-Set-up-an-API-Request-action#h_01H95JPYYVQTR2RBF57BV2RSNY
Send the API request to your Leads endpoint that can be seen in your leads collection page, using the token and whatever custom fields you'd like to add. You'll find more information from Marketing > Leads > Collect Leads using API (pictured below).
Need API documentation to work around Zapier's limitations?
