What's the difference?

What's the difference between a 'Subscription Contract' (the contract agreement within a specific membership) and the Membership Waiver: the Terms & Conditions (found under Settings > Waivers & Terms)?

Both involve text to agree to. But the Subscription Contract has binding settings (like how long a customer has to be on a membership before they can cancel out of it).

What's the customer experience?

Any time a customer is purchasing a membership on their own (self serving), they'll be prompted to agree to your membership waiver -- if you've added text for your membership waiver (from Settings > Waivers & Terms). This same text will display for all memberships when the customer clicks the 'By signing up, I agree' checkbox.

If you also have enabled a Contract for this specific membership, the customer will also see that additional contract text display in the same pop up.

And, if they agree to the terms, they'll be bound by whatever rules you've set for that specific contract (like, for instance, how many renewals they'll see before they can cancel).

What's the staff experience?

Here's how to set up your subscription contract and how the membership waiver (terms and conditions) will also display at the same time. This video also covers:

  • the self serving customer experience

  • how staff can sell subscription:

    • in person & have the customer sign in person

    • over the phone, then send a customer the contract to sign by email

How do I set up a membership waiver?
