Webchat is a chat pop up that displays on your website. Its for those that are curious about your business and want to learn more.

It shows potential customers a pop up chat window, allowing them to reach out to your staff instantly. If the individual reaching out isn't a customer yet, the plugin will automatically pipe their info into your Leads Manager.

It can even be configured to display a custom prompt to start the conversation, and, when someone uses webchat, their messages will pipe right into your Momence Inbox, making for easy communication from one place.

How does installation work?

From Marketing > Webchat, you'll find a blue light bulb just above the code to copy.

This light bulb will show a video to follow along with for the most common website builders.

Best Practices

On your website builder, you should look for an option to add the plugin code to your HTML Header. This is good practice because it allows the Webchat popup to remain with the customer as they scroll, and will display on all of your webpages.

Note: The blue light bulb videos will show exactly where you can access the Header's HTML.

What if my website builder doesn't allow access to the Header's HTML?

If, for some reason, your website builder doesn't allow you access the Header's HTML, you can add the Webchat plugin code to any section of a webpage, using the 'Add section' or 'Add block' options that display when you are editing a webpage.

Note: adding to an individual section on a single webpage will result in the webchat displaying on just that page and in just that portion of the webpage.

If you're adding to an individual section, after clicking the plus sign, in the menu that pops up, search for 'html'.

This will usually produce the option you're looking for, which is a short form where you can add some custom HTML. It's often found under a section called 'Files and Web,' so if you're not seeing it after searching for 'html', try searching for 'files and web.'

Now, in your Momence dashboard, grab that gift card plugin code by clicking Marketing > Webchat. Change any text fields you'd like to use.

Then copy the code you see, and paste it into your website builder HTML form. The plugin should now display. You can resize it to fit its section on the page by dragging its corners out.
