You can now create memberships with a free trial that ends on a specific date of your choosing. (ie. maybe on your scheduled launch date, when you'd like all renewal charges to begin hitting).
This means that well before your doors open, your customers can signup for memberships, add their cards on file, start booking out your schedule, and -- most importantly, have their first renewals hit on a day of your choosing.
Or, for businesses that are already open, this feature could be used to create a sense of urgency in trying a new subscription. (ie. 'This free trial only lasts from now until ____').
Where do I control this?
This feature is not available by default and can be activated by reaching out to support.
Once activataed, create a subscription and, under 'Auto-renewal settings,' you'll notice we've added a field called 'Free Trial End Date'. (pictured below, bottom right).
Note that this option will only show as you create a new subscription. It will not show when editing a pre-existing subscription (a subscription that's been around since before this feature was introduced). It will, however, be editable with newly created subscriptions.
What will customers see?
If you send your customers a link to the subscription, they'll see a preview of the free trial timeline based on the date you chose. (ie. 'Free until x date, then x $/month).
If they click purchase they'll then be prompted to enter their card details, and are then immediately taken to the schedule page where they can see your offerings.
