What's new?
You can now ding your customers who fail to renew their subscriptions.
How does it work?
A single fee is applied once the card has been updated. The fees you list will not add up. Rather, Momence will charge a single fee based on the last unsuccessful renewal attempt before the first successful renewal charge.
In other words,
The fee is not actually charged until the card can be successfully charged
Once the card is updated, Momence will check to see which retry was last attempted (ie. 1st, 2nd or 3rd), then charge the fee listed for that attempt.
The fee is then added to the subscription charge
Below, for example we've set up our re-runs to try:
2 days after the first attempt.
Then 4 days later.
Then 6 days later.
Where can I control this?
From Settings > General Setup > scroll to Membership Renewals > toggle on enable renewal retries > set your fees > save changes at the bottom.
Choose whether to cancel a customer out of their existing bookings using the bottom toggle.
Where can I see fees assessed to customers?
From their profile under Activity > Payments, you'll find a history of any fees assessed.
Can customers see detail of this anywhere?
Not at this time within Momence. Fee breakdowns will only be visible from a staff profile.
How can I best set customer expectations to get ahead of any surprises?
Update your terms of service for memberships to include language that matches the fee settings you've chosen.
You can add this text from Settings > under the Customers section click Agreements, Waivers & Privacy policy > Membership terms & conditions.
You can also add text to the description of a membership as an extra measure.
