If you've enabled direct debit and your business is based in Europe your customers will now see payment options at checkout for SEPA, Bancontact and Ideal.
To enable direct debit, click Settings > under Administrative, click Get Paid > toggle on direct debit.
The Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA) is a European Union initiative that harmonizes electronic euro payments, making cross-border transfers within 36 European countries as fast, safe, and easy as domestic payments. It enables individuals and businesses to send and receive EUR funds across this region using a single bank account and standardized formats (IBAN).
Bancontact is an electronic payment method in Belgium, used for both in-store and online transactions. It allows users to make instant, secure, and direct debit payments from their bank accounts using a physical card, the Payconiq by Bancontact app, or QR codes.
iDEAL is a popular Dutch online payment method, allowing users to pay directly through their own bank’s mobile app or internet banking, making it ideal for the Netherlands. It facilitates immediate, irreversible transactions without sharing sensitive credit card details, boasting high trust and widespread adoption for e-commerce and bills.
