The different suggestions below are the most common issues that will cause your Terminal not to successfully connect when opening the Momence POS.
DNS
Change the DNS settings on your computer or router to utilize 8.8.8.8 as the primary DNS nameserver. Here's how to do it on MacOS:
Your router and computer should both be on 2.4 GHz
How do I know if my Wi-Fi is 2.4 Or 5GHz?
On a Mac:
Click on the WiFi icon in the top nav bar while holding down the Option/Alt key
Look at the channel information written in grey text. It will say 5 GHz or 2.4 GHz
On a Windows Computer:
Connect to the WiFi network
Open your networks panel from your taskbar (click the WiFi icon in the bottom right)
Click on properties for your connected network
In the new window that opens, scroll to Properties
Network Band will either say 2.4GHz or 5GHz
Using wifi boosters?
using a booster? Make sure its frequency matches the router. If these two are different, the Stripe POS device will not work properly.
Allow list
Stripe Terminal requires that both the point-of-sale application and the reader are able to interact with specific domain names, all of which are "allow listed" on your network.
You can set up your router to only allow specific devices by adding their MAC addresses to the router’s Access Control list. You can find this list by logging into your router (ex. your Xfinity login) and navigating to the Security or Network menu.
