To set this up, click Settings > General Setup > scroll 3/4 down.
Under 'Collect phone numbers' toggle on 'Ask customers for their phone number at checkout.'
Add the question you'll ask them.
Customers will now see this field in checkouts and won't be asked again after entering it the first time.
