Inventory Checks allows you to reconcile your physical inventory with your system-tracked inventory and identify discrepancies.
How to get started
To run an inventory check, click Studio Setup > Retail Products > Actions > Manage Inventory checks.
Then click Start Inventory Check.
Bulk Entry vs. On-site Entry
Bulk entry displays all your stock for the selected location (note: if no location is selected, it will display all stock without an assigned location). If you've previously added stock levels for these items, Momence will display them here minus any transactions that would have depleted them.
You can then run through the list and confirm or correct what it has. Confirming is as easy as clicking the grey button. Correcting simply requires entering the updated number under 'counted stock.'
Note: bulk entry is especially helpful if you've already counted your stock and your findings are in a spreadsheet. For easy comparison between whats in your spreadsheet and what's in Momence, sort your spreadsheet by alphabetical order, then run through each quantity and confirm or correct what's in Momence.
On-site Entry will prompt you to select each inventory item from a dropdown (after searching for it) before entering a stock count.
Understanding Location settings
Note the location dropdown at the top. If you leave this blank, you'll see a list of products that don't have a location assigned. If you're doing a stock check for a specific location, make sure to select it first before starting.
Going Mobile
Both Inventory Check options allow you to use a phone for easier portability. To use a phone, open a web browser on your phone, log in to momence.com and click Studio Setup > Retail Products > Actions > Manage Inventory checks > choose a check type.
Need to take a break?
Lean on the 'Save as Draft' feature and return later when you're feeling fresh.
You can always return to resume the check by clicking Actions > Manage Inventory Checks
Then click the pending inventory item > Actions > Edit.
When you're done counting
Save your changes. Note this will update the quantities in your inventory but will keep track of the discrepancies you found.
Review discrepancies
After you've completed the inventory check, you'll see it listed with a time stamp.
Click on its saved line item to see a list of discrepancies. Differences (positive or negative) are shown in red.
