The Customer Referrals page (which lives under Marketing > Referrals) has expanded its functionality.

It still follows the same structure of:

  • When your customer refers a friend, the friend receives x

  • Then, once the friend does x,

  • Your customer receives x

What's new?

Attach specific memberships to any part of your referral process

You can now reward memberships for specific behavior. For instance, maybe you'd like to:

  • give all newly referred friends access to a special one time use membership; or

  • only reward customers who's referred friends purchase a new membership; or

  • maybe even reward the original customer with a membership of their own.

Money Credit Bonuses can now automatically apply to membership renewals

Customers are usually already on a membership before they consider referring a friend. And its usually safe to say that they'd like their rewarded referral money credits to be applied to their monthly membership renewal. You now have a lever to make sure this happens.

Note: If they don’t currently have a renewing membership the money credits will be given as store credit and will show as an option to use in each of their future checkouts.
